SIR JOSEPH BANKS PARK

Public BBQ

Sir Joseph Banks Park is a large, multi-use park with a pond, golf course, and footbridge to the foreshore. It is ideal for picnics and outdoor parties. There are also extensive kids' playgrounds with giant animal structures made out of plants. Visitors can enjoy the natural bush scrub preserved at the far end of the park. The park has a few covered dining areas with BBQs and toilets available during daylight hours and there's a fenced dog off-leash area. The bike paths have traffic lights and are interactive for kids on bikes and scooters. The birdlife, including geese, adds to the charm of the park. The only drawbacks mentioned are the lack of shade cover in some areas during summer months and noise from airplanes. Nonetheless, it is a great place for a relaxing day out with family and friends.
